Beef Tips with Gravy

Ingredients
- 2 lbs sirloin tips, cut into bite-sized pieces
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2.5 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Cooked mashed potatoes or rice for serving
Instructions
- 1Season the beef pieces with salt and pepper.
- 2Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over high heat and sear the beef in batches for 1-2 minutes per side until browned; remove and set aside.
- 3Add the remaining oil and cook the onion and mushrooms over medium heat for 6-7 minutes until softened, then add the garlic and cook 30 seconds more.
- 4Sprinkle in the flour and stir to coat, cooking for 1 minute, then slowly whisk in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- 5Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-6 minutes until the gravy thickens.
- 6Return the beef to the pan, along with any accumulated juices, and simmer for 8-10 minutes until the beef is tender and the flavors meld.
- 7Serve over mashed potatoes or rice.
