Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Whipped cream and fresh berries, for serving
Instructions
- 1Preheat a waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 2Whisk the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt together in a large bowl.
- 3In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth, then stir into the dry ingredients.
- 4In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form, then gently fold them into the batter to keep it light and airy.
- 5Pour the recommended amount of batter onto the hot waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crisp, following the iron's timing guide, usually 4 to 5 minutes.
- 6Repeat with the remaining batter and serve warm topped with whipped cream and berries.
