Crispy Fried Chicken Tenders

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken tenders
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. 1Soak the chicken tenders in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes, or up to a few hours in the refrigerator.
  2. 2Combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
  3. 3Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
  4. 4Remove the tenders from the buttermilk, letting the excess drip off, then dredge them thoroughly in the seasoned flour.
  5. 5Fry the tenders in batches for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through to 165°F.
  6. 6Drain on a wire rack or paper towels before serving.
