Ingredients
- 5 cups mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- 2Toss the berries with 1/4 cup of the sugar and the lemon juice, and set aside.
- 3Pour the melted butter into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- 4Whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk, then pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring.
- 5Spoon the berries and their juices evenly over the batter.
- 6Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the top is golden and the batter has puffed up around the fruit.
- 7Cool for 10 minutes before serving warm.
