Creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 lb penne or fettuccine
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, plus more for pasta water
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, about 10 to 11 minutes, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
  2. 2While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat and saute the garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. 3Pour in the heavy cream and broth, bring to a gentle simmer, and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. 4Whisk in the Parmesan, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning until smooth and creamy.
  5. 5Add the drained pasta to the sauce and toss well, using reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency as needed.
  6. 6Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan before serving.
