Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup cold buttermilk
- 1 tbsp melted butter, for brushing
Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 425 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- 3Cut the cold butter into the flour using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4Stir in the buttermilk just until the dough comes together; do not overmix or the biscuits will turn out tough.
- 5Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat into a 1-inch thick rectangle, and cut into rounds.
- 6Place on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden on top, then brush with melted butter.
