Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

  • 2 lb beef stew meat, cubed
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 12 oz egg noodles, cooked, for serving

Instructions

  1. 1Place the beef, onion, mushrooms, garlic, broth, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper in the slow cooker and stir to combine.
  2. 2Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the beef is very tender.
  3. 3In a small bowl, whisk the flour with a few tablespoons of the hot cooking liquid until smooth, then stir the mixture back into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  4. 4Cover and cook on high for another 15 minutes, until slightly thickened.
  5. 5Turn off the heat and stir in the sour cream until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
  6. 6Serve the stroganoff spooned over cooked egg noodles.
