Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef stock
  • 1 potato, boiled and mashed
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 (9-inch) pie crusts
  • 1 egg, beaten, for egg wash

Instructions

  1. 1Cook ground pork, beef, onion, and garlic in a large skillet until browned.
  2. 2Stir in beef stock, cloves, cinnamon, and allspice, and simmer 15 minutes.
  3. 3Stir in the mashed potato to bind the filling, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. 4Cool the filling slightly, then spoon into a pie crust-lined dish.
  5. 5Cover with the second crust, seal and crimp the edges, and cut vents in the top.
  6. 6Brush with egg wash and bake at 375°F for 40-45 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. 7Rest 10 minutes before slicing.
